I was fortunate to witness Rah Azul’s Art exhibit over at Tia Chucha’s Centro Cultural & Bookstore along with poetry featuring Laureate Poet and Tia Chucha’s co-founder Luis J. Rodriguez.

Rah Azul (follow him on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/RahAzul and Instagram) performed in a ritual Aztec ceremony surrounded by his art pieces to tell his ancestors’ story (as he puts it: “the story that you will never find in history books”) and how they play a big role in his art and daily inspiration.
The amazing part of being there was being transported to an ancestral time and place far away. Rah Azul, aided by Aztec danza groups Temachtia Quetzalcoatl, Axolotl and Xochiyaoyotl, took everyone in a spiritual journey that transcends time, a journey into the mystical realm of his ancestors and took the audience into a world of wonder and utter respect for…
