Stain'd Glass Heart

By the shores of Ohmaha and Juno

General Lonely Heart was defeated,

A sad song was played inside the Heart home;

Disbelief in the cold act completed.

General Lonely Heart should have retreated;

Oft pride fools the best, oft pride does treason,

Heart gasped, his resources were depleted,

But far too late came the voice of reason.

Could he have rage’d for just one more season?

Only Fate doth know, he built the pyre,

The one which held Heart the lonely seaman;

To the west ashes soared from the warm fire.

The world goes on, and is unforgiving;

Heart, another victim of shameless living.
